The person behind the work

Curiosity

I’m endlessly curious about people. I love hearing their stories, understanding what matters to them and discovering the connections others often miss. Whether it’s over coffee, in a workshop or during a research interview, I usually leave with fresh ideas and a notebook full of observations.

Collaboration

I’m organised, thoughtful and naturally collaborative, but I’m also willing to ask difficult questions when they need to be asked. I enjoy bringing structure to complexity and helping people make sense of challenges that can feel overwhelming.

Optimism

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: lasting change grows through relationships, shared learning and small actions that ripple outwards over time. That’s what gives me hope, and why I’m passionate about creating the conditions for people and communities to thrive.

Presence

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me exploring somewhere new with my family, reading, out for a run or walking along the coast. Some of my best ideas emerge when I’m away from my desk, paying attention to the people, places and conversations that make everyday life so interesting.

Experience and Qualifications

My work is grounded in both academic research and practical experience.

I hold a PhD exploring theatre approaches to health and wellbeing, alongside a teaching qualification in higher education (PGCHEP).

Over the past fifteen years, I’ve worked across universities, local government, charities, cultural organisations and community partnerships, helping people use creativity to improve health, wellbeing, learning and community life.

What brings these experiences together is a commitment to translating research into practice. I enjoy connecting different perspectives, bringing structure to complexity and helping organisations make confident, evidence-informed decisions.

My Approach

Creativity, learning and meaningful connection can help people, organisations and communities imagine new possibilities, navigate complexity and create lasting change.

These three ideas shape how I think, work and collaborate.
